North Cyprus is renowned for being the place to buy well-known imported brands at a fraction of the normal cost. Cyprus Brandy is a favourite with tourists as it costs less than £2.00. Cigarettes are priced at a just over £1.00 per packet. There are some very high quality North Cyprus tourist shops all around the island and they are worth a browse. Shops in North Cyprus are open during the summer until around 7pm although some for close for lunch. During the winter they are open until 6pm. Spectacles and sunglasses are sold at a fraction of the cost found in Europe, known brands, Ray Ban, Gucci, Police, Dior, Chanel are available. Eye testing is very good here again for a small charge. Tax Free Shopping has now been introduced to North Cyprus.
