Alagadi Northern Cyprus

A popular area of Northern Cyprus for two very good reasons:

For the long stretch of beach that is always enjoyed by tourists and people of North Cyprus.

Alagadi is only 17km east of Kyrenia.

The headquarters of the Turtle Conservation Project of North Cyprus with its base located at “The Goat Shed”.  The Goat Shed is where visitors meet to be taken to the beach to enjoy watching the hatching of the baby turtles. North Cyprus has very important beaches for nesting turtles. 

The turtles lay eggs at Alagadi beach during the summer June – August and sometime during August – October the turtles hatch. This is a popular tourist attraction when visitors and tourists to North Cyprus are able to watch the hatching of the turtles.

Still today Alagadi is an unspoilt area of North Cyprus full of natural beauty and from the beach you have a wonderful view of the Five Finger Mountains.  Being a public beach, unlike any of the private beaches, Alagadi beach has no sun beds or shades to hire, so be sure to bring any of the extras you feel necessary.

Park the car and walk through impressive sand dunes to the sea. 

Head East from Kyrenia passing Karakum, and continue through Catalkoy, you will reach a junction sign posted to the Acapulco Resort, turn Left here, passing the Acapulco Resort and quite soon on the right will be a new road leading down, this will take you to a turn off for Alagadi Beach.
